Czech Village

How long has it been since you got carried away by a fairy tail told by your grandmother… Imagine… Beautiful small village surrounded by mountains that can tell a lot of different stories. Some of them were happy, and some of them were sad.

When visiting our traditional village behind the Hlubocepy castle, you might feel as if the time has stopped. For a moment, you will fly over to a country-side where your nose is pleasantly teased by the smell of fresh flowers and where the sun is shaded by old trees. Your neighbour smith has just started his daily routine and you can hear the herbalist giving his advice.

You won’t experience only traditional country-side, traditional architecture and arts. There is much more to see…. Have you ever tried to create your own mug the way old ceramist used to do? Did you know how soap or candle was made? Give it a try! You can also see how traditional basket is made and perhaps fill it with your own decorated sweets.

Should you feel you need a bit of real adventure and some reward, become a gold digger! You might feel hungry and thirsty after all that effort and learning. Don’t you worry; there are always enough traditional Czech dishes to please everyone.

Till the end of school year we would like to encourage mainly nurseries, primary schools, children’s homes (orphanage) and other educational institutions and organizations to come and visit our traditional village (please see contact numbers for your reservation).

Week-ends will be full of entertainment provided by various folklore festivals, amateur theaters, swordsmen shows and others. Children will surely get excited by participation in different old traditional games and competitions.

Podium located in the centre of the scene offers excellent opportunity for various social and cultural events. For example, arts schools can organize their end-of-year event for their parents and grandparents… Craftsmen can organize a fair… We can name many other events.

Traditional village will be open from May 7th till September 30th, 2009. More information regarding opening time and other details will be published in the next few days.

We are looking forward to see you!
